# Estimations

How to browse, search, and create draft estimations in Service Center, and turn an accepted estimate into an invoice.

# Estimations

Estimations is where you draft price quotes for customers before any work is booked. You build up a draft here, share it with the customer for approval, and turn it into a real invoice once they accept.

## What you can do here

- Browse every draft estimation in a table, showing Estimate No, Customer, Status, Due Date, Total, Amount Due, Currency, and when it was last updated.
- Search estimations using the search box at the top of the list.
- Sort the list by Estimate No, Status, Due Date, Total, or Updated by clicking those column headers.
- See status at a glance from the colored status badge on each row (pending, active, closed, cancelled, or refunded).
- Click View on any row to open that estimation's detail page.
- Click New Estimation to start a new draft quote.

On an estimation's detail page you can add, edit, or remove line items, optionally pull in a saved service package to prefill items, share a customer-facing preview link, and click Issue as Invoice once the customer has accepted, which converts the draft into a billable invoice.

## Steps

To create a new estimation:

1. Click New Estimation.
2. Find an existing customer by name, company, or email, or click Create new customer if they are not on file yet.
3. Pick the service address and billing address for the job (or add a new address if none exist).
4. Optionally choose a service package to prefill the estimate's line items, and uncheck "Add this package's line items to the estimate" if you want to start blank.
5. Add any notes you want the customer to see on the estimate.
6. Click Create estimation. You land on the new estimation's detail page, where you can add line items and share it with the customer.
