Promotions
How the Promotions screen lets a business owner create coupons, discounts, offers, and gifts, and track redemptions.
Promotions
This screen is where you set up coupons, discounts, offers, and gifts for your customers, and see how many times each one has been redeemed.
What you can do here
- Create a promotion. Under "Create a promotion," pick one of four cards, each opening a form built for that type:
- Coupon: a code customers redeem.
- Discount: an automatic price cut, no code needed.
- Offer: a limited-time promotion.
- Gift: a free item included with a purchase.
- Browse recent promotions. The "Recent promotions" grid lists what you've created as cards, each showing the type, the code (if it has one), the title, the discount or gift ("20% off," "$10 off," or the gift item), a status badge (Active, Draft, or Expired), and the expiry date (or "No expiry"). Use the search box to find one by title, and page through the list if you have more than fit on one screen.
- Edit or delete a promotion. Each card has a pencil icon to edit its details and a trash icon to delete it. Deleting asks you to confirm first.
- View claims. The "View claims" link takes you to a separate page listing every time a promotion was redeemed on an invoice: total amount redeemed, number of claims, how many distinct promotions were used, a breakdown by promotion, and a table of recent claims with customer, invoice, amount, and date.
Steps
- From Promotions, click the card for the type you want to create: Coupon, Discount, Offer, or Gift.
- Enter a title and the fields specific to that type. A coupon needs a code and a discount type (percent or amount) and value. A discount needs the discount type and value. An offer needs a title, optional code, and discount details. A gift needs the item you're giving away.
- Optionally set a usage or quantity limit and an expiry date.
- Save the form.
- The new promotion appears in Recent promotions, where you can edit or delete it later.
